Accessibility

Leibniz University Hannover makes every effort to make its websites accessible without barriers in accordance with the national legislation (NBGG, Lower Saxony Disability Equality Act) implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

This declaration on accessibility solely applies to the research portal “Research@Leibniz University” (https://www.fis.uni-hannover.de/portal). It does not apply to other websites from Leibniz University Hannover.

Status of compliance

This website complies in part with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 and NBGG due to the following exceptions.

Not accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

  1. linked PDF documents provided by third parties

Documents provided by third parties (for example, other institutions, publishers, scientific journals) are created externally and are frequently not available in an accessible version.

  2. Contents (partially)

Due to the complex content published in this research portal, simple language (e.g. the omission of technical terms) is usually not possible.

  3. Functionality for the representation of networks (Graph of relations)

For better illustration, the relations between organisations, individuals and research services can be presented as a dynamic network. This Flash functionality is provided by the underlying Research Information System and is not implemented in a barrier-free manner. The university is working towards the software provider to ensure that improvements are made in the context of product updates.

  4. PlumX pop-up overlay for publications (alternative metrics)

The PlumX pop-up overlay is only accessible on mouse-over, not with the keyboard. The data is not accessible for screen readers. It is an integrated component of the PlumX provider Plum Analytics.Alternatively, the data can be accessed on a separate Plum Analytics website.

  5. (alternative) link descriptions

The links are partly created by the users of the LUH Research Information System. It is therefore possible that alternative link identifiers are missing and that the aim and purpose of a link may not always be obvious from the link text. Subsequent processing of the links by administrators imposes a disproportionate workload.

  6. Alternative texts for images of research equipment are not available

The missing alternative text is going to be added.
